Getting out in the field and collecting data is a personal favorite for several of our staff. We use many approaches depending on the nature of the information. These include GPS data collectors by Trimble Navigational Systems with sub-meter accuracy, hand-held PDAs with our custom ArcPad application to collect user-defined coded feature attributes, laptop computers and traditional mapping techniques
