San Mateo County Enterprise GIS Parcel Mapping, Redwood City, CA:

Countywide cadastral mapping which includes approximately 225,000 active parcels and approximately 30 other layers that all agencies use today. Accuracy of the data varied with the terrain and local source control. The project was completed in approximately 18 months. A second project was subsequently launched to acquire high resolution digital orthophotography and improve the parcel fabric’s horizontal accuracy. All active parcels and associated overlays were adjusted to the imagery by adjusting to physical features such as fence lines; spatial improved approximately two-fold, and overall to about 5 feet within developed areas and 10 feet in most rural areas.
